    We don’t have cable TV at home but every once in awhile we’ll stay at a hotel and while I’m channel surfing I sometimes come across an old “Rockford Files” episode–invariably I’ll stop to watch it. There’s Garner’s charm and his interaction with some of the recurring characters. There was something innately appealing about Garner’s lovable loser persona–he never got the girl and usually absorbed a terrible beating on top of that. What a guy…
